What kind of software can I use when doing a measurement with APEX?

There are two software interfaces available to acquire data with APEX: APEX User Application and TMSi Python interface.

The way to acquire data with APEX is either using the User Application or the Python interface. Both software and their user manuals can be easily downloaded here.

APEX User Application

The APEX User Application is a software developed by TMSi and is built using Python. This software allows users to easily configure APEX, perform (impedance) measurements over USB and Bluetooth, record raw data to .xdf or .Poly5 files, configure card recordings and download card recordings from APEX. The recorded files can be inspected using the File Viewer and Python. Further processing of the signals can be done both in Python and MATLAB.

Python

The TMSi Python interface is open source software which is available for download on this page. The interface has the functionality to open a connection to the amplifier and plot live data. Furthermore, it is possible to start measurements and measure impedance values of the different electrodes. Recordings can be saved in either .Poly5 or .xdf formats. It is possible to transform both file formats to an MNE-Python object for further processing, or export the .Poly5 files to .EDF files. Multiple examples on how to use the interface are provided upon download. This article contains information about how to install the TMSi Python interface.
