What can I do if SAGA is not found on PC?

There are multiple steps that you can take if you cannot connect to SAGA directly.

It is possible that the PC cannot connect to SAGA directly. There are multiple possibilities why SAGA is not found on the PC. Please check if your system is compatible. If your system meets the requirements, TMSi advises to take the following actions. Please make sure SAGA is docked.

NOTE

SAGA can only be used by one software program at a time. Usage of for example the SAGA User Application and the TMSi Python Interface simultaneously is not possible and will lead to connection issues. Please make sure to close all current open software before opening new software.

Check power cord

The power cord of SAGA must be connected properly for SAGA to make a good connection to the PC. Even when the power cord is not connected properly, the LED on the back of the Docking Station (DS) of SAGA can be turned on. Therefore, please take out the power cord and connect the power cord again. Please press the cord until the connector makes a click-sound. Without the sound of this click, the power cord is not connected properly.

Try a different USB port

Changing the USB port could be a solution to the problem. Please try connecting through different USB ports on the PC.  Please ensure the USB cable is attached well to the DS.

Do a short reset

Shut off SAGA and take the USB cable out of the PC. Also unplug the power cord from SAGA and take out any batteries. When all power supplies are disconnected, undock SAGA and wait for one minute. Redock SAGA and attach all power supplies again. Try to connect to SAGA.

Re-install the driver

If the above solutions do not work, try to re-install the driver on the PC. First, uninstall the current driver via 'Add or remove programs' in Windows and search for 'TMSi SAGA Device Drivers'. After de-installation, please download the SAGA driver here. Install the downloaded driver and try connecting to SAGA again. Please make sure to de-attach the USB cable connected to SAGA from the PC during the re-installation process.

Reset SAGA to factory settings

If none of the above works, please try the example script in Python 'example_factory_defaults.py' to reset SAGA to factory settings, or contact TMSi support for the factory reset tool. Please read the readme before the factory reset and follow the instructions on the screen to ensure a proper reset.
